Integral Bodywork® Introduction

Integral Bodywork® is a transformational method of hands-on bodywork. It seeks to restore an individual’s structural integrity through release of the body’s matrix of connective tissue. As this 10 Session process unfolds, the mind as well as the body moves towards increased awareness, clarity, alignment, spaciousness and ?exibility. A more natural condition of being is encouraged and various discomforts of long standing begin to shift and ease. Integral Bodywork®can be highly effective in providing long-lasting relief from chronic pain and can also tremendously expedite the release of trauma of all kinds(physical & emotional).

The synergy between Integral Bodywork® and other forms of self development and creative endeavor is truly remarkable. It can richly enhance one’s practice of yoga, meditation, martial arts, or dance as well as help to inspire new creative expression in any of the one or performing arts.

In this training we will explore foundational perspectives of structural integration bodywork as well as experience giving and receiving lots of hands-on Integral Bodywork®. A posture, alignment & breath centered method of zen meditation will also be taught. Everett Ogawa has maintained a full-time practice in this method for 20 years. He received his initial training in bodywork from William ‘Dub” Leigh, founder of Zentherapy who himself was a direct student of Ida Rolf, Moshe Feldenkrais, and Milton Trager. Everett is a long-time zen student and received an M.A. in Buddhist and Western Psychology from Naropa Institute in 1978.
